Jab tak hai jaan review

Let me start off by saying that I am a very big SRK fan.I have watched all of his movies at least a hundred times but I feel JTHJ is his weakest flick in a very, very long time. But this is no fault of his but due to the lackluster script and the sleep inducing length.

The story is about Indian army bomb diffusal expert Major Samar Anand-The man who cannot die.The reason why he chose to be in the army is downright ridiculous. His life takes a turn when he meets Akira Rai a young journalist who infuses a bit of life into the major. However fate has something else in store for our Major. He is met with an accident which leads to retrograde amnesia and is forced to revisit his past.

The plot is very juvenile to start with. But adding to the misery is the pace of the movie which gets ridiculously slow at times and gets unexplainingly fast at times. For example the entire first half is wasted in the Samar-Meera love storywhich is so boring that watching paint dry is a better option.Contrastingly the portion where SRK is suffering from amnesia is so short that you feel that was an unwanted twist.

Speaking of the performances SRK charms you with his charisma and he looks a million bucks with the stubble.Katrina kaif can't act to save her life and is evident in many of the scenes.Anushka sharma all though pretty at first gets utterly irritating after some time.Of all the song only Challa and heer impress.AR Rahman is not in his best here but backgroung music by him is very good.Choreography by Vaibhavi Merchant is superb especially the sequence before the Ishq Shava song.

All said and done JTHJ is too long at 3 hrs but is watchable only if you are a patient watcher.
